old Home – Rethinking Caregiving

Your spouse was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. You have anxiety, you lie awake many hours at night and when you awake up in the morning, you feel like you are being pulled in different directions. You are not alone….

Take a moment, breath, gather your thoughts, you are fearful for the future, but there is no courage without fear, you may not have control over the blood tests, treatments and other diagnostics outcomes, but there are a lot of things you have control over.

My name is Esther, I am a caregiver & an oncology nurse.

I guide spouses caring for their loved ones with colon cancer, on how to cope with the struggles, challenges and stress that come from caring for a loved one with colon cancer at home.

I teach you how to navigate your new role, through a proven step-by-step, to help you know what to do, how to do it, and be the best caregiver you want to be.

Here at AriseHaven, we guide you on how to:

Help your spouse prepare for surgery, recovery and adjust to life after surgery.

Why and how you need to take care of yourself and your emotions.

Why you need to get organized as your spouse’s support person.

Dealing with uncomfortable conversions including how to tell your children about the diagnosis.

You are your loved one's advocate during your interactions with the Healthcare system.
It is to your advantage to know at least where to start, what questions to ask, what to expect during and after treatments etc.

You will go from a  state of panic, not knowing what & how to get started after their spouse is diagnosed with colon cancer to standing up in the face of fear; getting proactive, starting with what you can do instead of focusing on what you can not do or what may happen.
